About Us
Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC), first began performing in the late-1990s in the chapel of a former United Church in Victoria BC, the ambitious brainchild of two graduates of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Tariq Leslie and Elvy Del Bianco. Fast forward 23 years and Ensemble Theatre Company – now located in Vancouver - has become a welcome addition to Vancouver’s theatre landscape.
The ensemble has grown to several members, and is known for thrilling, powerful, productions from The Farnsworth Invention and Frost/Nixon to A Prayer for Owen Meany, In The Next Room…Or the Vibrator Play —and accolades that include several Jessie Richardson Award nominations and one Jessie win for Superior Donuts.
Ensemble’s artistic force remains rooted in the original vision of its founders: an artist-driven theatre, whose vitality is defined by its sharp appetite for ground-breaking, innovative work.
Ensemble operates as a registered charity and not-for-profit organization relying on community support to produce or present up to 3 plays, as well as readings and other events every year. The theatre’s artistic endeavours and programming draw a multi-generational audience from the greater Vancouver area, while our impact reaches well beyond this region with patrons and supporters hailing from across Canada, America and even Europe.
VISION
Inspired audiences. Livened minds.
